Must-Try Thai Food According to Team Payaman’s Clouie Dims

Team Payaman content creator Clouie Dims indulges herself in various must-try dishes in Thailand in a new travel vlog.

Top 5 Thai Food

Curious about trying Thailand’s authentic dishes, The Team Payaman Wildcats asked their tour guide for food recommendations, and here are the top 5 foods he suggested:

Pad Thai

According to Taste Atlas, Pad Thai is a famous Thailand’s national dish. It is a stir-fry dish with rice noodles, tofu, bean sprouts, dried shrimp, and eggs. It can be partnered with meat, chicken, or pork as well.

One of the best Pad Thai shops recommended by their tour guide is “Pad Thai Pratu Phi,” which has been in business for over 80 years.

Tom Yum Goong

Tom Yum Goong is the most popular type of soup in Thailand. With seafood or meat as its main ingredient, it is a hot and sour soup that features iconic flavors from 3 herbs: Lemongrass, Galangal, and Lime Leaves.

“Ito ang pinakamasarap so far,” Clouie said as it quickly became her favorite dish.

Panang

Panang is a chicken curry dish combined with vegetables, basil, coconut, and peanut sauce that makes it taste slightly sweet and not too spicy.

Tom Kha Gai

Tom Kha Gai is a type of chicken soup that gets its primary flavor from Galangal. Another key component of the dish is coconut milk.

Kaeng Khiao Wan

Kaeng Khiao Wan means “sweet green curry.” Contrary to its name, it is known as the spiciest type of traditional Thai curry. Its pale green color is obtained by adding coconut milk to the original color of green curry paste from green chilies and Kaffir Lime leaves.

But wait, there’s more! TP girls’ tour guide also shared two of the most famous desserts from Thailand. One is Mango Sticky Rice, made of steamed sticky rice, coconut cream, sugar, and ripe mango, topped with yellow mung beans.

Another famous Thai dessert is Foi Thong. Foi stands for thread, and Thong means Gold. This dish is made by drizzling a duck egg yolk into a narrow funnel of sugary syrup to create a long and sweet golden string.

After the food recommendations, the tour guide also taught the TP girls Thai words such as “Let’s eat” and “Masarap.”

Stay tuned to Clouie’s YouTube channel for more upcoming Thailand travel vlogs where the Team Payaman girls made most of their travel, food trips, and shopping.
