PUP Manila Extends Efforts to Promote Disability Inclusion Through ‘Blindspot’ Event

Join VIYLine Media Group (VMG) as we support Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Manila’s advocacy of having an inclusive environment for Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

VMG officially invites everyone to join PUP Junior Marketing Executives (PUP JME) corporate social responsibility event called “BLINDSPOT: Exposing Aptitude, Magnifying Opportunities.” This virtual gathering is happening on Sunday, January 29, 2023, via live stream on PUP JME’s official Facebook page, from 1 PM to 5 PM.

What is PUP JME?

PUP JME is an official student organization under the Department of Marketing Management of the institution’s College of Business Administration. It is one of the most active and duly-recognized socio-economic-oriented student marketing organizations in PUP Manila.

The organization is celebrating its 36th year of promoting marketing excellence among students, local organizations, and affiliated partner schools across the country.

Blindspot

This coming January 29, PUP JME will be having a webinar called “BLINDSPOT: Exposing Aptitude, Magnifying Opportunities.” It aims to promote diversity and inclusivity among PWDs and to help enlighten marketing students to serve and reach PWDs from a marketing perspective.

Disability inclusion means providing equal rights and opportunities to people with limited capacity. The main goal of this advocacy campaign is to uplift the value and relevance of reaching out to diverse people, especially those marketing students with disabilities.

Blindspot also aims to start the conversation about inclusivity, particularly in the marketing industry. It also seeks to recognize the PWD community as a market, discover solutions on how to tap them as a market, and open up more opportunities for the community.

This 4-hour live stream session will feature different activities, including the following:

  • Q&A with successful PWD entrepreneurs, marketing professionals, and PWD-friendly brands.
  • Commercial Making Competition featuring partner brands catering to the PWD market.
  • Outreach activity for PWDs and their children.
  • Live sign language translation.
  • Give away short-term scholarships for the PWD Community.
  • Partnering with local brands and SMEs catering to PWD consumers.
  • Acoustic pop fare with guest performers.

“BLINDSPOT: Exposing Aptitude, Magnifying Opportunities.” is open for students from PUP Manila, non-PUPian, or even interested participants outside PUP Manila.
