Recently, VIYLine’s Business Development Manager and Ivy’s Feminity co-owner, Ivy Cortez-Ragos introduced her husband, Jeff Ragos’ new business venture, 55 Overload.
Coming from its name, the newest silog hub in Biñan, Laguna offers rice meals and snacks for PHP55 each, making it perfect for everyday lunch meals and merienda.
What’s the catch? You get to enjoy a delicious silog meal without going beyond your budget! Each meal consists of java rice, egg, and an entree of your choice.
Cortez Family, headed by Mr. Rolando Cortez, Viy Cortez, and Yiv Cortez, graced the soft opening to support Team Ragos’ new business venture.
Aside from rice meals, 55 Overload also offers snacks such as Overload Cheesedog, Overload Burger, and Siomai for only PHP35 each.
Yiv Cortez’s food venture YIVA is also available for purchase at 55 Overload’s branch. Each tub of Lasagna and Bibingka retails for PHP150, perfect when partnered with 55 Overload’s rice meals.
Ivy can’t help but become emotional about the support she received from her family and supporters.
“Maraming salamat sa Pamilya ko! Hindi man ‘to malaking event tulad ng mga ginagawa namin sa Viyline, still pumunta sila sa soft opening ng 55 Overload para i support kaming mag-asawa!” she wrote in a Facebook post.
A Shared Venture
In an exclusive interview, Ivy Cortez-Ragos shared what pushed her and her spouse to open a new business.
“Ang concept n’ya lang talaga is maging budget-friendly talaga s’ya. Masarap, nakakabusog, pero abot-kaya, kaya P55 lang s’ya,” Ivy said.
While there are a lot of rice meal businesses in the market, Ivy stayed optimistic and shared 55 Overload’s edge among others.
“PHP55 [yung presyo] so, abot kaya s’ya, and mabubusog ka na talaga. Hindi namin tinipid. ‘Yung kanin namin hindi lang s’ya regular rice.”
She happily shared that their newly opened business is a dream come true for her husband, Jeff.
“Itong 55 Overload, pangarap talaga ‘to ng asawa ko. Sobrang happy ko kasi bilang asawa, masaya ako na nakikita ko ‘yung asawa ko. Pangarap n’ya kasi talaga maging kusinero.”
Since Ivy’s husband, Jeff Ragos is the primary cook in the business, the mom-of-two shared how her husband manage the kitchen operations: “Lahat po ‘yun [mula] pagluluto, ‘yung iba pang mga bagay, s’ya po talaga ang hands-on.”
In the future, Ivy and Jeff are looking forward to expanding and bringing their business to different parts of the Philippines.
“Ngayon pa lang ang dami nang nagtatanong kung pwede mag-franchise,” the happy wife disclosed.
She added: “Siguro step-by-step. Sa ngayon, pinag-aaralan pa namin s’ya, and kapag gamay na naming mag-asawa, let’s see! Sana in God’s perfect time.”
