Prominent Esport shoutcaster Trevor “Quickshot” Henry invited Team Payaman representatives in his Best-of-1 English interview series.
Cong TV, Junnie Boy, Boss Keng, and Burong, who jokingly labeled themselves as Brownlist International, flew to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, along with Tier One Entertainment to support their esports division: Blacklist International in Apex Legends at the 2024 Esports World Cup.
The 2024 Esports World Cup is a multi-game tournament held in Riyadh that features competitions in 22 different games, including Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, Honor of Kings, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, and more.
The Redeem Team
In an interview with Quickshot, Lincoln Velasquez, a.k.a. Cong TV, and Aaron Macacua, a.k.a Burong, explained the connection of the gaming lifestyle of Blacklist International to them as content creators.
“We’re just poor guys in the Philippines; the owner [of Tier One Entertainment] saw an opportunity to help us make content and also to help them elevate the company. Then, here we are, ten years later,” Cong narrated.
With the vast gaming population in the Philippines, Cong TV and Burong also emphasized the importance of cheering and supporting Blacklist International as the only group from Southeast Asia that made it into the 2024 Esports World Cup.
“Because one thing that we’re good at is to really bring on that energy especially to our players in the Blacklist teams. But with the support of the content creators who are cheering them up, I think that gives a light energy for them coming into these games,” Burong said.
“The future is huge for this club, and I think in the coming years, they should be ready for Blacklist International. Support our Apex Legends team, watch them, cheer [for] them, support in any way that you can,” Burong added.
