First Look: Viy Cortez’s Jaw-Dropping Custom Leo Almodal Bridal Gown

Viy Cortez radiates elegance, beauty, and joy as she walks down the aisle and marries the love of her life, Cong TV, while wearing her stunning custom Leo Almodal bridal gown. 

The YouTube power couple’s wedding ceremony took place on Monday, June 17, 2024, at L’Annunziata Parish in Muntinlupa City. 

Jaws dropped, and tears started flowing as soon as they saw the 27-year-old vlogger and entrepreneur step inside the church in her sparkling full-crystal wedding dress designed by couturier Leo Almodal. 

In an interview with VIYLine Media Group, the owner of House of Almodal revealed exclusive details on turning Viy’s dream wedding gown into reality. 

Bride’s fairy godfather

It was in 2021 when Viy Cortez visualized what her wedding gown would look like after seeing the Baroque Rococo-inspired princess ball dress worn by actress Ara Mina on her wedding day. 

A year later, she got engaged to her longtime partner, Lincoln Velasquez, a.k.a Cong TV, and she already knew who to look for. 

“Nung nakita ko yung gown ni Miss Ara Mina, sobrang gandang ganda ako at sabi ko ‘pag ako kinasal, kung sino yung designer ng gown niya, dapat ‘dun ako magpagawa. So nung na-engage kami ni Cong, hinanap ko agad si Sir Leo,” the VIYLine CEO said.

Meanwhile, Leo Almodal happily accepted the honor of becoming Viy’s fairy godfather and put her dream wedding dress to life. 

“She wants to have a ball gown na full-sleeves and crystalize, so that’s what I did. I always listen to my brides, so kung anong gusto ng brides ko bigay-hiling ako,” Almodal said. 

Fit for a queen

The fashion designer famous for specializing in full-crystal ball gowns revealed that it took more than 30 people and roughly three months to complete Viy’s wedding dress, which is filled with Swarovski crystals. 

“It’s more than a million Swarovski crystals ang nandun sa damit niya [and] it’s 25 kilos,” Almodal said of the dress with a 4-meter grand monarch train. 

Almodal also revealed that Viy Cortez’s wedding dress, which features a sweetheart neckline that extends to delicate off-the-shoulder straps, is worth around P2.5 million. 

And Viy’s initial reaction upon fitting the dress for the first time? “Sobrang happy ko, hindi ako makapaniwala.”

Meanwhile, social media-famous makeup artist Paul Unating created Viy’s glowing glam look, while her sweet half-bun hair under the veil was done by hairstylist Daniel Forro. 

To complete her look, Viy wore a total of 10-carat diamond stud earrings from Manila Diamond Studio and YSL heels customized by Leo Almodal.
