Cong TV and Viy Cortez Grace Smart Parenting Cover; Shares Life as First-Time Parents

Team Payaman headmaster Lincoln Velasquez, a.k.a. Cong TV, and his fiance, Viy Cortez, narrate their experiences as first-time parents to Zeus Emmanuel Velasquez, a.k.a. Kidlat, on the February 2024 cover of Smart Parenting.

Smart Parenting says the renowned YouTube power couple are the first vloggers featured on its cover. Cong and Viy now share the platform with stories of Filipino celebrity couples, such as Judy Ann and Ryan Agoncillo, Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico, and more.

“Parenting, oo. Pero smart?” Cong quipped with disbelief at being chosen for this year’s love month’s cover for Smart Parenting. 

With Cong having nearly 12 million subscribers on YouTube and Viy with almost 7 million, the Team Payaman power couple proved to their wide audience that aside from their comedic charm in content creation, they can also provide inspiration in topics such as parenting. 

Cong-Viy as First-time Parents

In Smart Parenting’s cover story entitled “Cong TV and Viy Cortez Bask in Their Happiest Season Yet,” the Team Payaman couple shared how having Kidlat gave them extreme happiness.

“Dati, masaya. Ngayon kasi mas masaya,” Cong said.

However, aside from the joy of being first-time parents, it is an experience also accompanied by various struggles. 

For instance, Cong shared with Smart Parenting that the hardest part of being a father is never being used to Kidlat getting sick, which causes them both to panic. 

Nonetheless, the soon-to-wed couple looks forward to facing both the struggle and joys of their soon-to-be-married life and parenthood to possibly more kids together.
