Mauhusay: Meet Team Payaman’s Resident Dance Diva, Mau Anlacan

We see her as a sweet and bubbly girl who has been living with the rest of the gang in Payamansion 2.0. But who is the real Mau Anlacan a.k.a Mauhusay?

VIYLine Media Group (VMG) got a chance to chat with the 25-year-old dance enthusiast, who gave us deets on her passion for dancing and life as a legit Team Payaman member.

According to Mau (born Stephanie Maureen Anlacan), she has been friends with some Team Payaman crew since 2014. She has also been working with Pat Velasquez-Gaspar in managing Cong TV and Junnie Boy’s clothing merchandise called “Cong Clothing” and “Giyang Clothing.”

Eventually, she helped Cong TV’s youngest sister in her business venture with VIYLine Skincare, which led her to stay in the OG Payamansion.

Passion for Dancing

Mau told VMG that her passion for dancing started at the early age of 5. Her journey began from joining dance activities in school and eventually being a part of STUMP Philippines, a group of Filipino dance enthusiasts.

Even before creating dance videos on YouTube, Mau has been an active dancer slaying in different dance competitions in and outside the Metro.

Like the other performers, Mau is looking forward to the day she could eventually perform on stage again. She also told VMG that she dreams of having her own dance concert because, why not?

“Pangarap ko talaga siya na mag perform ng mag perform habang nandun din lahat ng mga iba’t ibang performers na mga iniidolo ko,” she added.

While she felt that she has maximized her days being a legit “dance floor kontesera,” Mau said she is not closing her door to more dance opportunities.

Mau also shared that she looked up to STUMP Philippines’ Founder and Director PJ Perez when it comes to the craft.

“Super blessed ako na isa na ako sa tine-train niya.”

Meanwhile, when asked who among the members of Team Payaman would she like to teach some dance moves, Mau got her eyes on Cong TV and his sister, Venice Velasquez.

“Feeling ko kasi may ibubuga pa sila lalo na sa pagsasayaw since yung kapatid nila na si Junnie Boy eh dancer din,” Mau explained.

“Feeling ko may tinatagong talent si Kuya Cocon at Tsang Venice eh! Si Pat naman, halata naman sa kanya na may galaw or groove din siya,” she added.

Sweet Talk Dance Video

On Valentine’s Day, Mau gave her 26K YouTube subscribers a sweet treat with a show-stopping dance video

“Gusto ko kasi talaga mag release ng new dance cover sa Valentine’s Day since ito nalang yung way ko on how will I spend my Valentine’s Day na alam kong magiging masaya ako,” Mau shared.

Mau is joined by her fellow STUMP Philippines member JD Isono, who also edited the video. The energetic duo danced to the tune of Sweet Talk by Tyra Chantey.

While Team Payaman’s Dance Diva created the dance cover for her followers, little did she know that she was also up for a surprise. It’s because Tyra Chantey herself noticed the dance video and even reposted it on Instagram.

“Yes! I made the right decision. It was successful lalo na nung na notice ako ni Ms. Tyra Chantey yung kumanta ng Sweet talk,” Mau added.
