Team Payaman content creator Vien Iligan-Velasquez serves as an inspiration for others who overcome their skin struggles such as hormonal acne by embracing her natural beauty.
In a recently uploaded TikTok video, Vien sparks inspiration after she bravely took off the camera filter to show off her true skin.
Vien became honest and shared her battle against hormonal acne, which she fully embraced as she smiled in the said TikTok video.
“Finding strength in my skin struggles. Patience is the key,” Vien wrote in her caption.
According to experts, Hormonal Acne is a common skin condition that affects adults between ages 20 to 50 years old. It comes in the form of pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, or cysts due to the increase of the amount of oil the skin produces.
In order to prevent breakout, one can make a lifestyle change by preventing stress, getting better sleep, using better skincare products, and having a healthier diet.
For some, having acne does not only affect the appearance, but also takes a toll on their emotional health due to the feeling of unattractiveness, embarrassment, or self-consciousness.
Vien, however, proved to the netizens that they can easily shoo away their anxiety and power through such a struggle by boosting their own self-confidence.
“Hindi na mahihiya na lumabas ng walang makeup. Wala na akong pakialam. ‘Yung anxiety ko tinaboy ko na sa faraway,” Vien wrote.
Vien’s acne journey reached out to a lot of the netizens who shared the same struggle and were quick to show their support and advice.
