A tattoo is a form of art placed on a person’s skin; it serves as a form of self-expression, a symbol of one’s individuality and beliefs. Sometimes it also tells a story behind one’s life journey, significant memories, or people that shaped them.
VIYLine Media Group (VMG) spies with our little eye that some Team Payaman members have the same tattoo design. Have you spotted them too? Ever wonder what these matching tattoos mean?
Christ-centered Mark
In an exclusive interview, Team Payaman vlogger Adam Navea revealed that he is the one who designed the prominent symbol seen in other members of the group.
Navea shared that while having a matching tattoo was just a spontaneous decision among their circle, their chosen design has a Christ-centered meaning that represents their belief.
As the symbol’s designer, Navea revealed that he took inspiration from a Christian story he learned during his time in Philosophy school.
“I came across a story one day about the early history of the church, about Emperor Constantine dreaming of a symbol na ilalagay niya sa shield ng mga warriors nya,” Navea told VMG.
“After niya ilagay yung symbol na yun sa shield ng warriors niya, nanalo sila sa Battle of the Melvin Bridge, and I was really fascinated by the story. Kaya na isip ko wouldn’t it be nice to have a mark na no matter what happens it will always remind you na Jesus will defend and defeat your enemies for you if you just trust Him,” he added.
That’s when the group adopted the Chi Ro mark – a superimposed design of the first two capital letters of the Greek word Christos, which means Christ or “liberator” or “savior.”
“We use Christ to attribute to Jesus as a title,” Navea added.
Friendship Symbol
Currently, the Team Payaman members carrying the same tattoo design are Junnie Boy, Boss Keng, Mentos, Bok, Burong, Kevin Hufana, Awi Columna, Adam Navea, and Tin Piamonte.
While the group has no plans of adding further matching tattoos, they said they are not closing their doors to the possibility of having another unique symbol of their friendship.
