Viy Cortez Named as One of the “10 Most Empowered Women” in San Pedro, Laguna

The Office of 1st District of Laguna Congresswoman Ann Matibag named Viy Cortez as one of the “10 Most Empowered Lagunanays” in San Pedro, Laguna, for 2023. 

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the office granted the award during the “Araw ni LaguNanay” program last March 20, 2023, at the Rosario Convention Center.

Influence and inspiration

The “10 Most Empowered Lagunanays in San Pedro” is given to selected ladies as a recognition of their valuable contribution to different aspects of national building and inspiring fellow and younger generation of women. 

According to Congresswoman Matibag, Viy Cortez made it to the prestigious list because she is one of the most successful youths of San Pedro and serves as an inspiration to many. 

She became a CEO of her empire at the age of 23 and now owns multiple businesses, including VIYLine Cosmetics, VIYLine Skincare, VIYLine Media Group, TP Kids, and Ivy’s Feminity, 2 Tea Talk, and 1 Don C franchise, all under VIYLine Group of Companies.

“She continues to be a symbol of hope and a source of strength for women in this day and age. Her take on things, determination, and strong will to fight for her happiness and family is very inspirational,” Matibag told VIYLine Media Group. 

“To add to this, she has successfully taken on various roles, from being a partner, mother, and even being a topnotch CEO, which proves her outstanding ability as a woman, a TRUE EMPOWERED LAGUNANAY,” she added.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old vlogger and entrepreneur expressed her gratitude for the said award in an Instagram Story post.

Empowered LaguNanays

The said recognition given to the exemplary women of San Pedro is a part of Matibag’s women’s organization called “LaguNanay: Ang Samahan ng Maaasahan na Kababaihan,” which aims to help women of Laguna become self-sufficient. 

In celebration of Women’s Month, Matibag sends her utmost respect and gratitude to all the city’s strong, independent, and empowered women. 

“SALUDO PO AKO SA INYO, MGA LAGUNANAYS! Sa inyong TIBAY at TATAG, inyong patuloy na naitataguyod ang inyong pamilya. Hindi lamang ‘yan, patuloy ninyong ipinakikita ang galing hindi lamang sa bahay ngunit maging sa trabaho at lipunan. Tunay na kahanga-hanga po kayo. Happy Women’s Month sa bawat MATIBAY at MATATAG na ilaw ng tahanan.” 

Aside from women empowerment, the 1st District of Laguna Congresswoman is also championing several projects for children, which includes the passing of House Bill No. 7584 or the No Permit, No Exam Prohibition Act.
