Pat Velasquez-Gaspar Reminds Parents To Be Prepared For Unexpected Health Emergencies

As flu season continues, Mommy Pat shares a timely reminder for parents about the importance of being prepared for unexpected medical situations.

In a recent Facebook post, Pat opens up about her experience after her eldest child, Isla Patriel, was hospitalized for a week. Whenever something does not feel right with her children’s health, she never thinks twice about bringing them to the hospital.

The post resonates with fellow parents who can relate to the challenges and worries that come with caring for a sick child, especially during a time when illnesses are more common.

A Reminder For Fellow Parents

Following her family’s recent experience, Pat Velasquez-Gaspar says health is not something she wants to compromise on, especially when it comes to her children.

For Pat, a parent’s priority when a child gets sick is helping their child recover, whether that means undergoing tests, taking medication, or being admitted to the hospital when necessary.

At the same time, Pat acknowledges that medical expenses can become an added source of stress during emergencies. For this reason, she believes health insurance serves as a form of preparation rather than an expense.

“That’s why I always believe that health insurance is not an expense, it’s preparation. It gives you financial protection and more importantly the freedom to focus on what matters most when an emergency happens,” Pat says.

Through her message, Pat adds that while no one hopes to face a medical emergency, being prepared can help ease some of the challenges that come with unexpected situations.

Netizens’ Comments

Meanwhile, several netizens expressed support for Pat’s message, with some sharing their own experiences with hospital stays and healthcare costs.

Bebe Parcon: “Yes, Mommy Pat. Kami, kahit hirap, tiyaga sa HMO para incase ano man may pagkukunan.”

Frances Raiza H. Usero: “Yes, I agree, Mommy Pat! My son was also admitted to the hospital because of an allergic reaction. We stayed there for 2 and a half days, and our hospital bill was already insane. It really made me realize how important it is to have health insurance. We never know when an emergency will happen, so it’s better to be prepared than caught off guard. Health is an investment, not an expense.”

Yam Eiluj: “True. HMO is a must talaga.”
